Beechwood Cemetery livestreaming Remembrance commemorations to keep people connected during COVID-19
Remembrance Week observances at Beechwood Cemetery will have a bit of a different look this year as organizers limit on-site attendance to comply with pandemic health restrictions.
Despite the need for physical distancing, people will still be able to come together — virtually. The human need for social community is powerful, says Nick McCarthy, the company’s director of marketing, communications and public outreach, and thanks to the use of use of livestream video, Beechwood Cemetery is doing its best to ensure that engagement remains strong during Remembrance commemoration events.
“People need to gather at times like this, even if it’s around a screen,” McCarthy says. “The idea of not hosting Remembrance Week services and making them accessible to the public was never an option for us.”
