It is with deep sorrow that we announce Mike’s unexpected but peaceful passing, in Ottawa.  Loving father of Kira, Kalen and Poppy McGrath. Husband of Karla Palmer, cherished son of Sean and Heather (nee Lewis) McGrath, brother of Chris and Rob McGrath.  Son-in-law of Richard and Louise Palmer, brother-in law to Jason Palmer and Sandra Law. Loving uncle to Henry Palmer. Fondly remembered by many friends, including the online Muff Wiggler modular synthesizer community. Friends and family are invited to pay respects at Beechwood Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services, 280 Beechwood Ave. Ottawa on Friday April 26 after 1 p.m. Service will be held in the Sacred Space at 2 p.m. Donations can be made in Mike’s name to Serenity Renewal for Families www.serenityrenewal.ca

I would probably be dead myself if it weren't for the community you shepherded like Moses into the analogue promised land. You lived too far away for us to ever be as close as we could have been but I'm proud to say we were actually friends.

RIP Muffwiggler. Your forum is an incredible wealth of knowledge for fellow synth geeks and it is deeply appreciated. Thank you. Peace.

Mike built a bonfire that brought thousands of us out of the bushes and gave us a community.

Thank you Mike for creating the synth forum community which we have all enjoyed. It has been a daily staple of my life for the past 5 years. Your legacy and forum shall live on, and we will never forget the fabulous contribution you have made for all of us... May you have peace now.

The online community that Mike built has changed my life in so many ways. He became an invisible facilitator for an introvert like me to meet so many people from around the world who share the same passions. Thank you, Mike.
