Francine, Julie, Bruno, et toute la famille de Jacques,

As much as Jacques was a dear friend, cherished mentor, consummate professional, and wonderful boss to me I know that he was totally devoted to all of you. There are so many of us who will deeply miss “Uncle Jacques”, but yours is the greatest loss. I hope you can take some comfort in knowing that Jacques was widely loved and respected outside your close family. Please accept my deepest sympathies on your loss.

I only worked with Jacques for a brief period of time but he was definitely a man of integrity. His dedication to Canada and its military was unsurpassed. Have a great journey wherever you may be Jacques.

To the Hamel family, my deepest condolences. Jacques was a spirit with unending energy. He saw what we did not see and when necessary provided the guidance to make us see. His visionary concepts and dedication to the mission were legendary. I will always cherish Jacques comradery and sage advice.

I first met Jacques in Wolfe Squadron at The Royal Military College in August 1978. Jacques was a new recruit and I was a 3rd year just arrived from Collège Militaire Royale in St.Jean. Over the next 40 years our paths would cross frequently and we would work closely together on three separate occasions in the realm of Army Command and Control systems and architecture. Jacques always stood head and shoulders above others , both nationally and internationally, in his ability to visualize, explain and implement solutions that have become the way forward for the Canadian Armed Forces. My sincerest condolences to the Hamel family and his close friends. Treasure your memories of this remarkable man, for they are with you always. RIP mon ami, CHIMO et VVV

RIP Jacques. It was an honor and pleasure to have worked for you those many years ago. You will be missed. I will unfortunately not be able to be there in person for the celebration.
My heartfelt sympathies to the family and friends.
