It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved mother Denise nee Bailey. She passed peacefully at home surrounded by family. Denise was a loving daughter, sister and a devout wife for 51 years, a devoted caring mother of seven children; Steven, Rick, Greg, Peter, Paul, Mathew and Susan, grandmother of eleven and great grandmother of four. She enjoyed 28 fabulous years modelling here in Ottawa starting in the mid 60s. She is now with the love of her life, our father Ken, our brother Peter and all her descendants before her.

We would like to give our most heartfelt thanks to: Dr Lisa Cross of Community Palliative Medicine Associates, Champlain LHIN, Carefor PSW’s Shugri, Nimo & Heather, Bayshore Home Health & At-Home Hospice Inc.

There will be a graveside service at a later date yet to be determined.

In lieu of flowers please donate in-memoriam of Denise to University of Ottawa Heart Institute or a charity of your choosing, Thank you

Austin White, grandson

She is my Nanny White, as my sister and I called and will always call her. We were the only of her grandchildren to be born and raised in the United States. And while in the later years I didn't get to see my Nanny White as much as I would have liked, we were given the great gift of having her in our early years--and oh! how she shines in my memories. The trips to Canada would come to mean more to me than a child or adolescent could know at the time.
And so beautiful she was, and is, in my mind and heart. There was a keen yet loving matter-of-factness in my Nanny White's advice, and a sweetness in her laugh and a lovely cadence in her most beautiful English. She, and my great Aunt, and their mother and aunt--these four women of which Nanny White is a part--were formidable, loving, had grit, and had the gift of kindness and industry.
I remember Nanny White shifting in and out of speaking French with them and with my father; and I loved that.
I remember her voice so well. I love you Nanny White, and I send my love also to my beloved aunt Susan, who was with you, Nanny White, every moment. And I send love to my uncles Greg, Steve, Paul, and Matthew, and to all my 9 cousins in Canada. Both my sister, Ashley and I, are with you in our spirits.
God bless my grandmother and all those who love her.

Calling all angels, calling all angels
We're cryin' and we're hurtin'
And we're not sure why
And every day you gaze upon the sunset
With such love and intensity
It's almost, it's almost as if
If you could only crack the code
Then you'd finally understand what this all means
But if you could, do you think you would
Trade in all the pain and suffering?
Ah, but then you'd miss
The beauty of the light upon this earth
And the sweetness of the leaving
Calling all angels, calling all angels
Walk me through this one, don't leave me alone.

My Aunt Denise (I called her) was such a classy woman. She looked like a movie star. It was hard to believe she had seven children. My Mom Lucienne would meet her for coffee dates at Carlingwood shopping center. They were first cousins and shared a love of fashion and Denise even gave her a special dress to wear a my wedding that looked like it was right off the runway! She was a very special lady.?

Even though I'm finding out about Denise's passing a year later, I just wanted to extend my Deepest Heartfelt Sympathy to all her family for their loss.
I first met Denise at Merivale Bingo where we both went often. Denise was a beautiful Lady with an amazing personality. She was always pleasant, friendly and always had a smile on her face. I used to tease her cause her first name meant snow with her last name being white and she had seven children.
RIP Denise ❤
See u at the Bingo
