Gordon Jeffery Brownlee, 63, passed away on June 23rd, 2022, surrounded by family after a valiant battle with cancer. He will be sadly missed by his wife Carolyn (Sims), and daughter Kylie (Brownlee). Loving uncle to Amelie and Daniel Drouin, and beloved sister-in-law Lisa Drouin (Marc Drouin). He will be missed by many friends and extended family, too many to name. You will always be in our hearts. He was born to parents John Keith Brownlee and Margot Heather Brownlee in on April 27th, 1959, in Ottawa, Ontario.
Gord loved to travel, ride motorcycles and was an avid skier. When he had down time, he enjoyed watching old black and white movies, reading, watching travel videos, and grabbing a drink with friends.
We wish to thank Gord’s care team. Dr. Bowles, Dr. Asmis, Dr. Whetter and Dr. Brodeur, who all went above and beyond to ensure Gord received exceptional care during his illness. We especially want to thank Benny De Guzman for the in-house care he gave Gord – you are a marvel. Your presence was a life line during such a difficult time and we cannot thank you enough.
Friends are invited to gather in the Scared Space of the Beechwood National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood Ave. Ottawa ON K1L 8A6 on Tuesday, June 28th after 1 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. followed by interment and reception.
Gord wished for any donations to be made to Pancreatic Cancer Canada to help raise funds to further research this untreatable disease.
