William “Duncan” Forbes passed away on Monday, May 30th, 2022 unexpectedly. The world has lost a great father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend and all-around remarkable man.

If you asked Duncan, his greatest accomplishment wasn’t his 50 years of service as a sprinkler fitter, it was being a father to his two daughters Miranda and Wynter (Shawn) and a grandfather to his three grandsons Harrison, Franklin and Liam. Duncan’s daughters and grandsons were the pride and joy of his life. The legacy of Duncan’s kind spirit, passion for sports and love of music will live on through them.

Duncan is survived by his siblings Jim Forbes (Heather), Dale MacDonald (Jim), Janice Fraser (Jim), Marilyn Forbes and many nephews and nieces. Duncan was preceded in death by his parents Leslie and Della Forbes.

A Memorial Service will be held at Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services (280 Beechwood Ave, Ottawa) on Thursday, June 9th from 10:30am to 1:30pm. A Celebration of Life will be held at Connor’s Irish Pub (2401 St. Joseph Blvd, Orleans) on Thursday, June 9th from 7pm until last call where we’ll raise a glass (or three) to this incredible man and give him the retirement party he deserved.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Duncan’s memory can be made to CHEO.

Sorry to see you go so early, your job must have been done here Duncan.I always smiled when I heard your laughter , it was contagious. On our phone calls many times the grand kids came in and it was a quick gotta go,I knew my place and enjoyed it as I felt the love through the phone for them, they were number 1.Number 2 was family,friends,co-workers,golfers and musicians all grouped together,I checked off a couple of these boxes. My first tee shot(haven't had yet) will be in your honor ,hope it doesn't end up in the woods.Do me a favor buddy, save me a spot in your golf group in the big sky.It would be nice to hear your voice again.
