William “Duncan” Forbes passed away on Monday, May 30th, 2022 unexpectedly. The world has lost a great father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend and all-around remarkable man.
If you asked Duncan, his greatest accomplishment wasn’t his 50 years of service as a sprinkler fitter, it was being a father to his two daughters Miranda and Wynter (Shawn) and a grandfather to his three grandsons Harrison, Franklin and Liam. Duncan’s daughters and grandsons were the pride and joy of his life. The legacy of Duncan’s kind spirit, passion for sports and love of music will live on through them.
Duncan is survived by his siblings Jim Forbes (Heather), Dale MacDonald (Jim), Janice Fraser (Jim), Marilyn Forbes and many nephews and nieces. Duncan was preceded in death by his parents Leslie and Della Forbes.
A Memorial Service will be held at Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services (280 Beechwood Ave, Ottawa) on Thursday, June 9th from 10:30am to 1:30pm. A Celebration of Life will be held at Connor’s Irish Pub (2401 St. Joseph Blvd, Orleans) on Thursday, June 9th from 7pm until last call where we’ll raise a glass (or three) to this incredible man and give him the retirement party he deserved.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Duncan’s memory can be made to CHEO.

In my 9 years at Johnson Controls I had the opportunity to work along side with You. Although I am a Fire tech you have taught me so much about our field. You were a great guy to work with and you always had a smile on your face. Especially when you talked about your grandkids. It was such a beautiful thing to see. I sure am going to miss working with you and having those Saturday Mornings breakfast after our monthlies. You may be gone but you will never be forgotten. So much memories in the 9 years that I have known you. R.I.P my Friend
