I am very sorry for your loss. Gus illuminated the day of anyone who walked into the Cafe. He was very proud of the traditional food he served and his friendly presence in a desolate downtown (especially in the first year of the pandemic), was comforting.

My sincere condolences to Gus' family. I am very saddened to learn the passing of Gus, such a kind soul, a true gentleman. While I worked at the St Andrews Tower, I had the pleasure to buy my coffee at the Delikat's Cafe. Gus and I soon became friends. Always in a good mood, he took the time to know and smile at each of his customers. I will miss him dearly and many Justice colleagues will too.

He was such a light and joy to all of us. Always taking care of us with his thoughtfulness and his sense of humour. He was so proud of his family and his children and his church and community. It was inspiring. So grateful to have had the pleasure of knowing him and having shared our days with him. May his spirit be at peace. Sending you all love.

I was so sorry to hear about the passing of Gus. I have been a customer at Delikat for the 14 years I have worked at Justice and popped in several times a week for coffee or to pick up lunch. Gus always had a friendly smile and greeting and was very kind to me. He will be missed by many of us at the department. My condolences to all of his family.

I am very saddened to hear about the passing of our Gus from the Delikat Café. My sincere condolences to the whole family. Gus was so welcoming. He was always available to prepare something for me well past lunch time, serve with a little joke, a positive attitude and some wisdom. He will be greatly missed.

My condolences to Gus's family. As a Justice employee I would always go to see Gus at least 2 times a day. Always with a smile and from time to time crack a funny joke. All the women loved him, classy man. You will be missed Gus. Thanks for the great chats we had over my 13 years at Justice.

My deepest sympathies to all the family. Gus was an amazing man. So, kind, caring and thoughtful. I knew him over his sixteen years at St. Andrews. He was always kind and compassionate to the homeless of Ottawa. Always took a few minutes to interact with each of his customers. Had a genuine care for each one of them. He will be greatly missed.
