We were shocked and saddened to hear this heartbreaking news about our irreplaceable "Gus". My sincerest condolences to all the family. May your wonderful memories of him continue to give you comfort always: from a frequent customer and long-time friend at the Delikat Café. It won't be the same without his wonderful welcoming smile to start off every new day. He greeted all of his regular customers by name and went out of his way to accommodate all requests, always ready to give that little "extra" wherever he could. He will be missed very much, every day in every way.

My heart felt sympathies to Gus' family and friends. I too was a regular customer at the Delikat Cafe, which was conveniently located next door to our building. Gus was a kind and hard working man, who greeted customers with a warm smile and a quick chat. He introduced me to his delicious home made lentil soup, which I would often have. So saddened to hear of his passing - he will be missed by many. Our thoughts are with you at this time.

I am so sorry for your loss. I visited Gus' café for several years, and he would always ask after my family and tell me about how his children were doing (his pride was evident). On Christmas Eve, when I would bring my kids to work for a half day, I always brought them in to visit with Gus. He will be greatly missed in and around Sparks St.

My sincere condolences to the immediate and extended family of Gus. I worked above "Guses" for five years. Gus was one of the kindest and most generous people I have ever known. He cared deeply for his clientele and made efforts to get to know each of us in order to develop a personal connection. Gus and I bonded over our love of Adonis (and would share the sweets we bought with each other), and when he discovered I was learning Arabic, he would help me along in developing my social vocabulary. Gus was enormously proud of his children, who I got to know through the stories he told of their accomplishments. His love for them was deep, as was his love for his late wife. Even after I changed work locations, I would always try to stop by when I was on Sparks, and even years after leaving, he would recognize me and greet me like a long-lost friend. Gus will be deeply missed by so many and for such a good reason: he was truly one in a million.

My most sincere and heartfelt sympathies to you and your family. Going to Gus's for coffee was the highlight of my mornings, and quickly became a tradition for many of us. He always greeted me with the warmest of smiles, and always had a joke on hand to make us laugh. I will miss him terribly and will cherish his memory fondly.

My condolences to Gus' family. Gus was such a kind and friendly man. As a Justice employee at St Andrews tower, I regularly bought my lunch at the Delikat's Cafe. Gus was always courteous and took the time to ask about my day. I will miss him .

To Mr. Siouti's family:

I am writing to express my deepest condolences for the passing of Mr. Siouti. I worked at the Justice building and very often bought my lunch at Delikat Café. Mr. Siouti was kind and thoughtful every single time I went to the Café. He knew many of our names and always took the time to ask how we were doing. We will miss him very much. My thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

For years I saw Gus at the Delikat Café, although I admit that I never called it that as to me it was simply "Gus' place". Gus was always so kind and warm, and full of little jokes to make his customers and friends smile. He spoke about his children often and always with great pride. He was a deeply caring, compassionate and hard working individual and his presence will be greatly missed by so many. My deepest sympathies.
