Angelita Mendoza de los Reyes, 70 of Makati City, passed away peacefully in her sleep in her home on Boyle Street, Palanan, Makati City on April 1st, 2021. She was born on May 17, 1950 in Alfonso, Cavite, Philippines. She finished her Masters of Arts in Educational Management at the Philippine Normal University in 2003. She devoted over four decades of her career to Colegio de San Juan de Letran as an elementary teacher, Principal of the Basic Education department, faculty member of the College of Education, and Dean of Letran Bataan College. She was also corporate secretary and member of the Letran Board of Trustees. Her last role at Letran was that of a Program Chair and part-time faculty member of the College of Education.

She was a beautiful human being – a Ninang and mother figure to many, a loving daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, an inspiring teacher, mentor and colleague. She was lovingly referred to by her family and dear friends as “Lita”, “Litz”, “Angie”, “Ma’am De Lo”, and of course, “Ninang.” She was the kindest, caring and most generous there is. She loved music and played the piano. She loved being with her family and her friends. She is missed tremendously.

Preceded in death by: Her parents, Melanio de los Reyes, Juana de los Reyes; Grandparents: Manuel Valderama-de los Reyes, Gregoria Fidel-de los Reyes; Macario Mendoza and Felisa Mendoza

Survivors: Brother, Mario delos Reyes and sister-in-law, Mercedes delos Reyes, Ottawa, Ontario; Nieces: Teresa (Che) delos Reyes – Ottawa, Ontario; Maria R. delos Reyes-Cheung, (Raymond Cheung) – Toronto, Ontario; Grandchildren: Nathaniel Cheung and Evangeline Marie Cheung.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 9th, 2021 at 9:30 am EST at Beechwood Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services. The service will be livestreamed via Zoom

A beloved colleague, a hardworking educator, a conscientious individual, a loyal friend. How sad not to meet her for sometime since I’m in an assignment far from her. The years we spent and work together were treasured memories and nostalgic moments now. Remember me Lita, pray for me as I remember and pray for you. Till we meet again.

Its a shocking news to all of us, the Mendoza clan but that is life. She is now in the paradise of happiness no more pain and sorrow. She is one of the few people who lend money to my family during my dad's Rodolfo Mendoza sickly days. We are very grateful for the help you extend to us. You will always be remembered and forever thankful for your kindness!
