Passed away peacefully at home at the age of 63 on December 4th 2020. Predeceased by his wife Renée, as well as his parents, Alexander and Edith.  David will be remembered for his kind nature and putting others before all else. Whether it was throughout his fulfilling career of over 30 years at Finance and the Treasury Board, being a best friend and go-to handyman to all his friends and neighbours, or caring for his family, he was devoted to giving of himself and bringing joy to those around him. David leaves behind his adoring daughter, Alexandra, his sister Debbie (Todd), his mother-in-law Pat (Dewar), nieces and nephews (Briena, Brooke, and Danny), and many loving friends.  Due to the restrictions of COVID-19, a private service will be held for close family and friends. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a cause near and dear to David, the Canadian Cancer Society.

Dave will be remembered for his love of his family. He was strong and silent but always enjoyed time with Renee and Al and the fun they all had together. Renee and Dave are now together in heaven smiling at us. Condolences to Al and the family.

Up until now I never gave it much thought, but were truly my best pal Dave. We experienced so much of life together at work and at play. I will miss your comments about my Tin Tin haircut. I am truly heart broken. Your favourite Charlie Brown Christmas tune will forever be at my fingertips?. My heartfelt condolences to Al, Pat, Debbie, extended family members and all of Dave’s Laurentian and Fin/TBS chums and comrades. Rest In Peace David.

Our sincere condolences to Ally, Pat, the Fairweather family and friends on Dave's passing. It was an honour to count Dave as a close friend. In fact, he was an instant friend to all who had the good fortune of knowing him. He followed this Golden Rule throughout his life: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" In short, Dave helped others first before he helped himself. He is truly missed. We will never forget his amazing smile.

My sympathy to Alexandra and Family. Dave and I worked together at FIN/TB. He was a really nice guy who was always playing practical jokes which was great for office morale. He frequently spoke of Alexandra who was his pride and joy. Every so often he’d show me a picture of him in his younger years and ask “don’t I look like Troy Donahue in this picture?” And you know he did! I will always have fond memories of Dave in the early mornings in his biking clothes going over the work requests for that day. He was an excellent colleague who cared about people, and was always willing to help out anyone. Dave certainly made his mark in life having touched so many lives.

It seems as though it was a hundred years ago, but I can still remember that smile and how, more often than not, above the clamour of our high school pranks and idiocies, his was the voice of reason. Sincere condolences to his family and friends.
