Dan will be greatly missed. I had the privilege of working with him for only a few weeks, but in that time his humour and clear insights marked him as a friend, leader and expert to be respected and admired. My thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to you all. Again, Dan will be missed.

Too soon a lost for his wife, family friends and to us all. I only started to know him at work and through common friends, but we were off to a great start as he was a kind and fun character. Our JSS community will keep him in our thoughts always. My families prayers will be with his wife, family and friends for their loss and grief.

Please accept my deepest condolences. I have great memories of Dan, both on deployment and as a great friend. Although we were posted in different cities for the past few years, we always made an effort to see each other when we were in the same city.
He was a great human being who I will miss conversing and spending time with.

To Dan's family: From my family to yours, my deepest condolences. Dan and I met in Wainwright in 2001 on course and we bonded right away. He had a great sense of humour and also a no BS way about him. I loved both! Dan and I were also together in the infamous car crash just outside of Wainwright that summer. Dan also came to my wedding and also crashed! Anyway, I feel so fortunate to have seen Dan last September and meet his beautiful wife when I was out in Ottawa. They are memories I will now cherish as my last ones with him. To Dan's parents, thank you also for being so generous to me personally, not sure if you remember me, but my wife and I stayed at your home in Edmonton many years ago. To Dan: Brother, rest easy, we'll take it from here. Until Valhalla...
To Dan's Family...….
I had the privilege to work daily with Dan for over four years where we forged a friendship that would carry over once we both moved on to other opportunities. Dan was one in a million, a true character with a sharp wit and a sense of humor that could not be bested. Words cannot describe the profound sense of sadness experienced when I received the news of Dan's passing. He was one of the great ones and will truly be missed.
From my family to yours, a sincere condolence for your loss! He will be remembered in the lasting memories he has left with all of us.
