It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my beloved wife, Susan Colleen Giles-Thompson. Susan leaves behind her much-loved stepdaughters Stephanie and Laura.  She was a cherished grandmother (Oma) to Malik, Faris, Zain, and Ella. She is also survived by her mother, Marilyn (Giles) Devlin; her brothers, Greg Giles and Brian Giles (Joanne); her niece, Konstance; her nephews, Logan and Mitchell; and her stepbrothers, Eric Devlin Jr. (Sandra) and Terry Devlin (Tammy). Susan was predeceased by her father, Bernard; her sister, Catherine; and her stepfather, Eric Devlin.

Susan was born in Smiths Falls, Ontario, and was a graduate of Carleton University. In Ottawa, she worked in the retail sporting industry, printing industry, and HR industry.

Over the years, Susan built many enduring friendships in all aspects of her life. She was loyal and always provided help and support to those around her. She was beautiful, sincere, gracious, and a poised individual who would light any room.

Her family, friends, and colleagues will miss her dearly. We know she is now in good hands and will be watching over us.

Rest in Peace, my Love…. Jeff

Susan has always been a warm shining light. I'll always remember her beautiful smile, the twinkle in her eyes, and her loving spirit. While we will all miss her immensely, I know she is in a wonderful place and that we will see her again someday. My deepest condolences to you Jeff and to the entire Giles and Thompson families.

So many wonderful memories of Susan from high school and University, she had such a clever wit and always ready with a quick comeback or an arch of her brow. Susan was beautiful inside and out and I offer sincere condolences to all who will miss her light.

I first met Susan at Ontario Youth Parliament, when were both about 15 years old. Susan had such energy about her. She was quietly competent and loudly, enormously fun. The world is a better place for having her in it.
