It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my beloved wife, Susan Colleen Giles-Thompson. Susan leaves behind her much-loved stepdaughters Stephanie and Laura.  She was a cherished grandmother (Oma) to Malik, Faris, Zain, and Ella. She is also survived by her mother, Marilyn (Giles) Devlin; her brothers, Greg Giles and Brian Giles (Joanne); her niece, Konstance; her nephews, Logan and Mitchell; and her stepbrothers, Eric Devlin Jr. (Sandra) and Terry Devlin (Tammy). Susan was predeceased by her father, Bernard; her sister, Catherine; and her stepfather, Eric Devlin.

Susan was born in Smiths Falls, Ontario, and was a graduate of Carleton University. In Ottawa, she worked in the retail sporting industry, printing industry, and HR industry.

Over the years, Susan built many enduring friendships in all aspects of her life. She was loyal and always provided help and support to those around her. She was beautiful, sincere, gracious, and a poised individual who would light any room.

Her family, friends, and colleagues will miss her dearly. We know she is now in good hands and will be watching over us.

Rest in Peace, my Love…. Jeff

My deepest condolences to Susan’s family. My late mother Tammy and Susan were good friends at one time and when my Mom passed in 2016, Susan connected with me online and shared condolences and a few stories. We would have the odd back and forth on messenger about my children or a comment on a picture here and there. A complete stranger to me at one time, I believe she was an angel my Mom sent to reach out during such a hard time for my family. Thank you Susan for connecting and being there. I know you and my Mom will reconnect now. Sending strength to all.

To Marilyn and Family .
I am so sorry for the loss of Susan . I did not know her , but sounds like she was a lovely person who knew many people with her different job experiences and she had many beautiful qualities as a person. She was taken too soon . Sometimes I wonder where the fairness is in life . Rest in peace Susan and hope you are helping someone in heaven who needs help . Laurie McDougall. I am a Smiths Falls Trinity United Church Member who knows Marilyn Devlin - Susan's mom . My Thoughts are with all the family . Hold on to the memories .
