beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on December 9, 2024 at the age of 88. She will be deeply missed by her husband, Mark, her children, Eric, Isabelle, Marjolaine, and Nathalie, her step-son, Peter, her grandchildren, Benjamin, Laura, Claire, Maxwell, Samuel, and Charlotte, her godson, Michel, and her friends Guy and Theresa Parent.
Nicole worked as anti-discrimination officer with the Public Service Commission of Canada, and on retirement was a devoted family woman. She found joy in visiting with her family and grandchildren, and in spending long days preparing amazing meals for her family. She loved tending to her garden at her home on Deerhurst Crescent. Music was another passion, and classical music by Grieg and the voices of Mario Lanza and Andrea Bocelli brought her immense joy.
An avid learner, Nicole was fascinated by ancient Greek history and literature. She spent endless days reading books by Agatha Christie and Honoré de Balzac, and loved recounting long stories about her readings.
The family cherishes memories of Sunday dinners, often featuring leg of lamb and carbonnade flamande, idyllic days on the lake in Muskoka and Haliburton, dim sum at Ogilvie Gardens, and day trips to Montebello and Parc Omega with the grandchildren.
Rest in peace Nicole (“Bonnemaman”), you truly were a great wife and mother. Our memories with you will continue to inspire us.
