Peacefully, before sunrise, on Tuesday, September 17, 2019, at the age of 88, in Ottawa. D’Arcy was born in Ottawa on April 17, 1931. He had a thirty-year career proudly serving in the Canadian Armed Forces (1951-81). He is survived by his loving companion Barbara Berry and eleven nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents: Michael D’Arcy McCloskey and Fassfern Anne McCloskey (née Cumming), and his sisters Helen Marshall and Edna (Bonnie) Judge. Special thanks and gratitude for the excellent care received from the exceptional nurses and other care staff at the Glebe Centre. Cremation will take place on Friday, October 4, 2019 at 8: 30 a.m. Friends are invited to a graveside service at the National Military Cemetery at Beechwood Cemetery, 280 Beechwood Ave., Ottawa on Friday, October 4, 2019 at 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dementia Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County.
