Karen was predeceased by her parents Ellen and Lester Benedict. She will be missed by her friend Wendy and her Parish Family at St. Barnabas A&M Ottawa. Fondly remembered by June, who she met on her many visits to Bermuda.
Karen was a primary school teacher and was active in the Canadian Girl Guides Ottawa. She was a stalwart member of St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Ottawa, where for many years she assisted with the annual Christmas bazaar where she used her love and knowledge of antiques to good advantage.
Karen was cared for by the compassionate staff of the Ottawa hospital in her final days. Thank you to the “hands on staff” at the Lord Lansdowne, where Karen had lived for 7 years, and especially to Abby who worked as her personal PSW and became a friend to Karen.
Her Requiem Mass will be held at 10am, Friday 19th August 2022 at St Barnabas Anglican Church 70 James Street (at the corner of Kent St. and James)
