We are deeply saddened by the death of Dr. William Shewchuk, beloved husband of Ene-Ann, father of Mark and grand-father of Alex. Predeceased by his son Thomas.
A graduate of McDonald College with a degree in science and McGill University in Dentistry in 1957. He married Ene-Ann in 1959.
He loved his profession and his patients, always taking courses to keep up with the latest developments.
He was an avid sportsman, liked wind surfing, played tennis until he was 90. Skiing was his favorite sport and was a part-time ski instructor at Mont Ste-Marie where the family owned a ski chalet.
He will be missed by his brother-in-law Juri Kukk, his son Jason, as well as many relatives and friends in Ottawa and Toronto.
He used to tell us he was still surviving the perpetual motion of the world. He did so until the age of 94. Not a bad deal.
He told his wife that whenever he heard beautiful music, he thought of her. Dad, thank you for everything. The family will mourn in private.
