Born at home on Flora street in Ottawa, to John W. Holliday & Alice Fryer. Gwen went to Percy St. school and Commerce High School. She became a Wren and worked throughout Canada and later for a Member of Parliament. Gwen was happily married to the late Larry Paget (2017). They lived in France where he was posted after the war. They resided on Caroline Ave. for many years. Gwen loved all animals, especially her own dogs. She liked to do gardening, reading, and walking and she loved to go to her cottage and walk the woods.
Gwen will be greatly missed by The Holliday, Newman, Latreille and Paget families and by many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her siblings, Bessie, Rita, John (Jack), Nancy and Hope. Thank you to all the staff at the Perley R2N. Thank you Laura for all your FaceTime help with Aunty every week. You were our Angels watching over her when we could not be there. Also thank you to the staff at the Ottawa General Hospital in keeping her comfortable in her last days.
Donations to the Perley and Rideau Veterans Health Centre or to The Ottawa Humane Society would be greatly appreciated. Due to limitations caused by COVID-19, there will be a private family service and interment taking place at Beechwood Cemetery.

My Mother, Julia Merrick Fraser and I are very sorry about Gwen. She was a wonderful lady and a very good friend of Julia Fraser's. Both ladies served the Canadian Naval WREN group in WW11.
