Bernard F. Beaubien, 92 years of age, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on January 30, 2019 in Ottawa. Beloved husband since 1949 of Alice Beaubien. Father of Dr. Lise Beaubien and Suzanne. Grandpepère to Adam, Katherine (Marc Giamberardino) and Sarah (Paul Harris) Ellis.
Born in Shawinigan, Quebec, he is the tenth of eleven children. He is survived by two brothers, Léo and Jacques, and one sister, Cécile. He moved to St. Catharines, Ontario in 1947 and worked as a precision tool grinder at General Motors Canada for 38 years. He was an active supporter of the francophone community in St. Catharines as a member of Club Richelieu, Chevaliers de Colomb, Club LaSalle and Hommes catholiques de l’Église Immaculée-Conception.
On April 3, 2019, all are invited to celebrate his life at Beechwood Cemetery, 280 Beechwood Ave, in Ottawa. The family will greet their guests as of 9:30 a.m. The service will begin at 10:30. A reception will follow.
The family extends their sincere appreciation to Dr. Luc Duchesne, Dr. George Michael and especially, to the staff at Centre d’accueil Champlain for their loving care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bernard Beaubien can be directed to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or the Canadian Red Cross Society.
