Peacefully at home at the age of 85. Predeceased by her parents Harold and Myrtle Spencer, her sister June Pettes, her husband Thomas Legg and infant son Peter. Survived by her daughters Brenda Peters, Elizabeth Wylie (Paul) and granddaughter Nora Wylie.

Connie graduated from The Royal Victoria Hospital School of Nursing in 1956 and still had contact with many of her classmates. She suffered most of her life with many chronic illnesses but when she was well she devoted much of her time to women's rights groups and helping the homeless. She was on the board that built The Older Women's Network Housing Cooperative in Toronto.

Her garden in Ottawa has always given her great enjoyment and was her place for meditation.

A private green burial will take place at Beechwood Cemetery. No ceremony will be held due to Covid 19.

Those who wish to honour Connie's memory can make a donation to Doctors without Borders or The World Wildlife Fund.

Connie was my dear classmate at The Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal.
Together we attended many R.V.H Alumnae lunches in Ottawa. I will miss our chats that we had from time to time. She was always so cheery when under adversity.

Sending thoughts and prayers to Liz, Nora, and Paul. Connie has lightened up this past year and a half for me. She inspired me through strength, belief, love, and compassion. I will think of her often and am endlessly grateful for the time I had with her.
Made a donation to Doctors Without Boarders on her behalf.
