Passed away peacefully with family by her side on September 3rd, 2020 at the age of 79. Born on June 3, 1941 in Ottawa, she was proud of her Irish heritage and the strength it gave her. Maureen leaves behind her loving children, Stephanie (David), Christopher (Alayne), Justin (Michael), and Victoria, aka "Tory". She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, Aysha, Sureaya, Gabriella, Kieran, and Harrison, and by her aunt, Colleen Beattie. She was happiest at home, enjoying a cup of tea while appreciating the view from her balcony with a new book always close by. Maureen loved Christmas so much that her home was filled with decorations year-round. Her Christmas tree gave her much enjoyment and was always beautifully decorated with treasured ornaments. Above all, Maureen will be remembered for the unconditional love and support she gave her children. A private service, followed by an inurnment, will take place at Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services (280 Beechwood Ave.). In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Special Olympics. The family would like to give special thanks to Bernard White, Carol Ann White, and Maureen’s friends who she worked with at the Canadian Hearing Society.

Your quiet wisdom. Your patience (with me). Your cryptic smile. The cigarettes you shared with me in the parking lot! But most of all your burning heart that warmed every room. Your heart will always shine upon our faces. Until we meet again. Ta.

Stephanie and family, please accept our deepest sympathies on the loss of your mother. No matter their age, losing a parent is like a loss of our childhood innocence. A person we so dearly depended on to show us the way has left our everyday world. We hope you are able to savior happy memories. God Bless.
