Passed away after a long illness, which he handled with dignity, Major Franklin Garland Strickland (retired). Leaving to mourn his wife Louise, sister Dorothy, beloved daughters Melanie and Wendy, and adored granddaughter Ellie.
Frank was born in Port Aux Basques Newfoundland and served in the Canadian Forces for 42 years. He was most proud of the work he did with the Transition Assistance program to assist injured Canadian Forces members. Frank had a love of life, family, music, food, and the outdoors, having fished every stream in his beloved Newfoundland.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in his name to the charity of your choice.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday September 11, at 10:30 a.m., followed by an interment at 12:30 p.m. at the National Military Cemetery at Beechwood.
