Peacefully in song and comfort with family and friends by his side at the Perley & Rideau Veterans’ Health Centre at the age of 93.
Beloved husband of his late wife Kathleen “Kitty” (née Octeau). Loving father of Debbie (Don) and Gerald. Cherished grandad to Kristen (Siniša), Luke (Amanda), Derek (Sue), and Kevin, as well as great-grandad to Harrison and Connor. Patrick is survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Gerald and Elizabeth (née Neeson) and by his siblings Gerald, Rita and Kevin.
We celebrate the life of Heber Patrick “Moxie” MacMahon. Born and raised in Montréal, Patrick joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1943 and was stationed all over the world during his 26 years of service. A member of the 408 Squadron RCAF (Rockliffe) from 1949-1957, he was instrumental in forming the first set of accurate maps of Canada. Moxie worked at Capital Air Surveys from the early ‘70s to 1982 and worked as Commissionaire at the Canadian Embassies in both Washington and England from 1983 to the late ‘90s. He will be missed by many loyal friends.
A special thank you to the wonderful staff at Perley Rideau. Patrick enjoyed his time spent, making friends and singing for the Perley choir with that beautiful tenor voice!
Friends and family are invited to attend a gravesite service for both Patrick and his late wife Kathleen on Friday, June 26, 2020 at the Canadian National Military Cemetery of the Canadian Forces, 280 Beechwood Ave. at 11 a.m.
Dad, may your Irish eyes forever smile down upon us.
Grandad, everything’s tickety-boo!
My Dad taught me the value of having a strong work ethic. He was influential in my education choices that led me to having a long and rewarding career.
My Mom always had my best interests at heart while at the many locations that we called home.
Thanks, Mom and Dad, for all you did for me. I miss you both.
