It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we share that Ryan Moolenbeek passed away at home on Friday 5 February with Mom and Dad at his side. Ryan courageously fought against cancer for three long years. He never ever complained. Ryan is survived by his parents Phil and Guylaine. Older brother to Eric who was Ryan’s bone marrow donor when Ryan beat childhood leukaemia. Beloved grandson to John, Laurie, Jean-Claude and Yvette. He will be dearly missed by his many uncles, aunts and cousins.
The family would like to thank the Palliative Care staff at the Ottawa Hospital, Nurse Joseph with Bayshore Home Health and Dr. Cross with Community Palliative Medicine Associates for their compassionate care of Ryan. Due to the restrictions in place because of COVID-19, a private family service will be held with interment taking place at Beechwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Sarcoma Cancer Foundation Canada would be appreciated.

Dear Guylaine, Phil, Eric and the rest of Ryan’s family.
I would like to extend my deepest sympathy for your loss.
I had the great pleasure of being Ryan’s companion at Camp Quality years ago and we remain close friends to this day.
Ryan was the kindest, funniest and bravest person I have ever met.
Rest In Peace Ryan. Love you buddy.

Similar to Deric Blondin (comment above), I met Ryan at Camp Quality of Northern Ontario where we would spend an entire week together during the summer.
Ryan had us laughing constantly. He was such a happy guy during those times and always had a positive outlook. He was someone who people would flock to for good companionship.
Thank you Ryan for all of the amazing memories, I will miss you dearly my friend. Rest In Peace.
