Following a lengthy battle with numerous health issues, Onnig “Nick” Kitzemian of Ottawa passed away peacefully on Thursday August 26, 2021 at the age of 44 years old.
Nick’s larger-than-life personality will always be cherished and remembered by his mother, siblings, cousins as well as many other family members and friends. Nick was predeceased by his father, Aroutoun “Harry” in 2009.
A special thank you to all the doctors, nurses and support staff at the Ottawa General Hospital that took special care of Nick during his most difficult times.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with Trisagion Prayers at 6:30 p.m. at the Dormition of Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, 1315 Prince of Wales Drive, Ottawa.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at the Dormition of Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, 1315 Prince of Wales Drive with burial service at Beechwood Cemetery to follow at approximately 11:45 a.m.
Flower arrangements are welcome, however we ask that you also consider a donation to the Dormition of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church. For donations to the Greek Orthodox Church, please make cheques payable to the Hellenic Community of Ottawa, 1315 Prince of Wales Dr., Ottawa, ON K2C 1N2. Online donations may also be made by clicking here. In the Donation Note, please indicate “In memory of Nick Kitzemian.” You may also leave a message at the church office at 613-225-8016 ext. 222 and someone will return your call.
