After fighting a courageous battle with cancer for two years, Master Warrant Officer Grant Williams passed away on 29 June 2019 at the age of 53. He is survived by his devoted wife, Gloria Williams, and his treasured children, Nathaniel, Jacob and Jazmine. He is also survived by his sisters Christine Milbury and Kim (Bruce) Knoll, his step father Doug Gamble, and his aunts, uncles, nieces and cousins. Predeceased by his parents Grant Williams Snr and Shirley Gamble. Grant joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1988 as an Artilleryman and later occupationally transferred to Resource Management Support Clerk. During his 31 years of service, he completed several tours of duty to include Shilo, Lahr (Germany), Petawawa, New York City, and Ottawa. Additionally, he deployed to Croatia in 1992.
The highlight of his career was his service with Canadian Special Operations Forces Command, which was over a span of 10 years, culminating with his employment as the Command’s Superintendent Clerk.
Grant loved being in the kitchen and making up incredible meals. He enjoyed being outside surrounded by nature, feeding the chipmunks and squirrels. Or he could be found sitting in a chair outside and breathing in the fresh air. He relaxed by putting his feet up while watching his favourite TV shows, sports, movies or surfing the internet.
A proud, determined and devoted husband, father and service member, he will surely be missed by his family, friends and all those that had the opportunity to know and work with him. Visitation will take place at Beechwood National Cemetery, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa, on Wednesday, 10 July 2019. Visitation will be from 12:00pm – 2:00pm, followed by a funeral service in the Sacred Space from 2:00pm-3:00pm. The interment will take place from 3:00pm-3:30pm with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada.

Right from the get go you could tell there was a general likeness about Grant. We knew each other only five years but he was a great Boss, mentor and friend. Always looking out for others. Rest easy brother.
