Peacefully with her loving husband Vidar of 73 years by her side, Julianne Leona Nordin passed away of natural causes at 98 on Thursday, August 26, 2021. She is predeceased by her parents Katherina Weninger Zerr and Anton Zerr of Allan, Saskatchewan, her brothers Emil and Ray and sisters Barbara, Pauline and Anne. She is survived by her brother Frank. Loving mother of Chris (Emy) and Katrin (Doug) and Grama to grandchildren Erik, Chace and Chelsea. Julie left rural Saskatchewan and headed to Vancouver where she met her life partner. They travelled the world throughout their marriage and the Nordin home is filled with momentos representing a tapestry of stories describing their trips. She was an avid and skilled bridge player and took a keen interest in interior decorating. She was always ahead of the curve in her own home design and believed in buying high quality classic modern pieces that would never go out of style. Julie was also the consummate host. She could feed and entertain 25 people or more all with home cooked food and lively conversation. But most of all, Julie cherished her family. She was the unwavering support that kept everyone and everything together. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Many thanks to all the staff at Amica Westboro for their excellent care over the last months. There will be a private family service to be held at Beechwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimers Society would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
