Our beloved mother and grandmother, Florence Quinn, died on January 9th, 2025, after a relatively short battle with cancer. She was 81. Her final moments were spent peacefully in the hospice in Ottawa, surrounded by her family.
Florence was the heart of our homes and family. Florence was married for 61 years to her soulmate, Richmond. She raised three boys, Michel (61), Richard (60) and Paul (59), in a happy and loving home to be independent and thoughtful adults. As a grandmother to Céline, Danielle, Rachelle, Nathan and Stéphane, she was the "lovable grand-maman," baking cookies and pies, and generally spoiling them rotten. As a great-grandmother to Daphne and Riley, she will be remembered as “GG”. As a mother-in-law to Tracy, Martine and Neil, she welcomed them immediately and she cared for them as if they were her own children.
Florence was known for her kind heart and wistful sternness. She will be remembered as a thoughtful teacher and happy homemaker. She was the heart and soul of our family, and she will be dearly missed. At the family’s request, there will be no funeral services, but before she passed, she made it known she wanted us all to share a laugh and raise a glass in celebration of her journey home.
