Age 92 of Ottawa, Ont. passed away peacefully on Friday, June 4, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Nictaux, Nova Scotia, she was the youngest daughter of the late Frank and Ella (Gaul) Taylor. She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Robert Jones, son Frank Jones (Claudia), Ottawa; daughter Susan Cournoyer (Rob), Eganville; 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter Janet Kowalenko; sisters Vange Robar, Doris Grant and Madeleine “Maddie” Johnson; brothers Harry Taylor, Ronald “Pat” Taylor, Harold Taylor and Robie Taylor. Ethel was a loving wife, mother, and “Nanny”, who provided comfort and a welcoming approach to both family and friends throughout her life.
In view of the current COVID-19 restrictions, no public funeral is planned. Donations in Ethel's memory may be made to the Dementia Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County. A heartfelt thank you is extended to all the staff at the Oakpark Retirement Community.
