Peacefully at the Ruddy Shenkman Hospice, Ontario on February 17, 2021. Dorothy was born in Montreal to the late Sarah Plott and Arthur Thompson. Dorothy will be extremely missed and adoringly remembered by her children, Bart Palmer, Laura Palmer (Ronald Matyas) and Linda Palmer. Grandchildren: Andrew Waugh (Cheryl Waugh), Tara Waugh, Joshua Waugh; Megan Palmer, Erin Palmer and their mother Carol Dobbs; Sarah Matyas and Liam Matyas. Great grandchildren: Lacey McTaggart, Isla Rose Lamer and Jane Waugh. Also survived by her brother John Thompson. She was predeceased by her brother, Arthur Sommers.

Dorothy believed in giving back to community and was involved in various volunteer activities. Her legacy was her passionate love of lifelong learning, animals, music and her devotion and commitment to family.

A special thank you to Dr. Hilton, Dr. Clemons, Nurse Fiona as well as the nurses and staff at the Ruddy Shenkman hospice.

A private funeral service will be held at Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services, (280 Beechwood Ave. Ottawa, ON) on February 22, 2021 at 1pm.
