Bud passed away peacefully at home after a lengthy illness. Bud was born in Hafford, Saskatchewan, son of Olga Chura (nee. Krysak) and Paul M. Chura.  He is survived by his wife Patricia (Campbell), brother John, Vancouver; sister Helen Thiel (John) Arizona; sons Lt. Col. (Ret’d) Paul (Christine) Kingston with Grandson Bradley and Granddaughter Kristin and son Peter, Winnipeg with Granddaughters Juliet and Madeleine. At the height of the Cold War, Bud served in the Royal Canadian Navy as an aviation technician with VS 880 squadron aboard HMCS Bonaventure and with VU 33 at Patricia Bay. He commissioned as an aerospace engineering officer into the newly formed CAF at HMCS Venture in 1969, serving  at 407 and 442 squadrons in Comox, FMC HQ St Hubert, 2 CFFTS Moose Jaw and NDHQ Ottawa. After retirement from the CAF in 1986, Bud worked at the Military Aircraft Division at Canadair in Mirabel until 1992. He enjoyed his final retirement years at home in Orleans with Pat and was active in the Divine Infant Church Council and Knights of Columbus, enjoying every opportunity to see his grandchildren.

Bud will be interred in a private graveside ceremony at Beechwood Cemetery on his birthday,  Monday, June 22nd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Lung Association

Pat, my condolences. Bud…

Pat, my condolences. Bud and I were apprentices together in the Navy starting in 1957. He introduced my wife Eleanor and I and gave her away at our wedding in 1962. For that I thank him with all my heart. For the last number of years we have only communicated by E-mail, he recently told me that we were the last of the five. Gods speed Sir.

Our deepest condolences to the Chura family.It seems Bud fought the good fight for longer than anyone predicted, which is a testament to his spirit.
