Heather Louise Avery, age 63, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 27, 2019, at the Hull Hospital in Gatineau. She was born September 22, 1956, in Halifax, to Sydney Walter and Frances Mae (Richards) Avery. Heather was preceded in death by her parents, and brother Richard.  She was a 1974 graduate of Queen Elisabeth High School in Halifax. She married Jean-Pierre Lessard on August 1, 1992, in Aylmer Quebec. As a mom her love for Nicolas and Véronique was unconditional.  She worked as a director within various departments for the government of Canada, and is remembered by her colleagues as a very compassionate co-worker. Heather truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; chatting with friends and family, meals and spending time travelling with her hubby. Heather had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. She is survived by her husband, Jean-Pierre; two adult children, Nicolas (Marjolaine) and Véronique (Julien); a sister in law, Cathy (Garnhum) Avery; nephews and niece Richard (Diane), Jason(Ashley),  Chad(Katie),  Heather and cousins. Family, friends, and others whose lives Heather touched are invited to reminisce, grieve, support each other and, of course, have a party after the celebration of life as requested by Heather.

This is a lovely photo, and tribute. Heather was indeed a special lady. She collected souls. Friends and Family is a phrase we hear so often...but to Heather, Family and Friends were *everything*! We will all miss her. I will be present for her celebration. Much love to you JP, and Nic and Vero.

Heather and I met working part time in Halifax's Simpson's store in 1975 and clicked immediately, sharing 45 years of fun, laughter, and experiencing all that life put in our paths. She was a magnificent woman and a true friend. The Halifax Clarkes send deep condolences, mixed with smiles for the good times.
