It is with deep sorrow that we announce Mike’s unexpected but peaceful passing, in Ottawa. Loving father of Kira, Kalen and Poppy McGrath. Husband of Karla Palmer, cherished son of Sean and Heather (nee Lewis) McGrath, brother of Chris and Rob McGrath. Thank you not only for the friendship over the years, but for building a vibrant community that continues to bring thousands of us together. Goodbye, old friend. I know you'd be disappointed if someone didn't say the following in your guestbook, so here you go: PM for MATHS.

Mike, thank you so much for giving us a home to grow as a community and find the support and friendship that has made it such a central part of so many lives. May your energy flow through every patch we make.

We never met, but your impact on me has been significant, like it probably has been for many others. Thank you for all that you did, and so selflessly giving yourself to the synth cause. The eurorack world would certainly not be where it is today without you - you and your forum were a beacon of light in the dark unknown. Rest in peace.
