It is with deep sorrow that we announce Mike’s unexpected but peaceful passing, in Ottawa.  Loving father of Kira, Kalen and Poppy McGrath. Husband of Karla Palmer, cherished son of Sean and Heather (nee Lewis) McGrath, brother of Chris and Rob McGrath.  Son-in-law of Richard and Louise Palmer, brother-in law to Jason Palmer and Sandra Law. Loving uncle to Henry Palmer. Fondly remembered by many friends, including the online Muff Wiggler modular synthesizer community. Friends and family are invited to pay respects at Beechwood Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services, 280 Beechwood Ave. Ottawa on Friday April 26 after 1 p.m. Service will be held in the Sacred Space at 2 p.m. Donations can be made in Mike’s name to Serenity Renewal for Families www.serenityrenewal.ca

Mike, you gave all of us lost soul, synthesizer geeks a watering hole to stand around and feel proud of what we shared in common through our love for music technology. Rest In Peace brother. We’ll keep broadcasting on your frequency down here in your memory.

Modular musician used the forums as a basis to dive into this field. The family is in my thoughts.

Condoleances from a modular synth user in Sweden. Mike made the world a better place with his online presence.

Mike will be sorely missed but we know he’ll be wiggling now alongside the other music greats!

I never met Mike in person, but still considered him a friend. I enjoyed our interactions online and valued his friendship. Prayers to his family during this time. The world lost a great one.

Mike was inadvertently a huge influence on electronic music and music technology with his website. Hundreds if not thousands of us, most of whom never got to meet him, owe him a huge debt and thank you. His passing is extremely sad for us all. Love and peace to his family.
