We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our father, Agostinho Lopes, on Tuesday, November 15, 2022. Beloved husband to the late Beatriz. Cherished father of Domingos (Maria) and Antonio (Nina). Loving grandfather of April (Curtis), Steven (Hannah), Alexandra (Michael), and Michael. Great grandfather of Audrey, Cole, Addy and Ava. Brother of Antonio, Valeriano, Alberto and Carlinda. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Agostinho will be sadly missed by many friends and family both in Canada and Portugal. Agostinho emigrated from Portugal in the classic Portuguese immigrant story with little money and full of hope. He had a successful career as an upholsterer and became one of the best at his craft. Agostinho was a unique, fiercely independent, hardworking and a proud man who greatly valued friendship and above all cherished his family. He was a great dad. Visitation for family and friends will be held at Beechwood Funeral Services, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa, Ottawa, ON. 613-741-9530, www.beechwoodottawa.ca on Monday November 21, 2022 from 5-9 p.m. Funeral Celebration Mass will be held at the Beechwood Chapel on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Beechwood Cemetery.
