It is with great sorrow to announce the passing of Chistopher (Duane) Gaudet on April 28, 2022, age 56 after a long illness with MSA (Multiple System Atrophy). He will be sadly missed by the love of his life, Audrey Adametz. Dear son of late John Gaudet and Janice Gaudet (knee Parks) and Son In-law of John and Vera Adametz. Loving father to Matthew, Quinn and Elizabeth Donovan (Ryan). Dear brother to Kimberly Clark (Peter), Holly Albert (Paul); Gerry Gaudet (Mary Ann); Candice Paulin (Gary); Troy Gaudet (Ma ReKa) and brother-in-law to the late Garry Adametz.  He will also be sadly missed by his grandchildren, and many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, friends and co-workers. He will be especially missed by his doggies, Bernie and Cassie.

In his youth, he started as a short order cook; gas bar attendant; grocery clerk and a shipper/receiver. In October 1989, Duane joined the Canadian Armed Forces, served in the First Gulf War (1990/1991) and Afghanistan War (2006), then retired from service in April 2010. Upon retirement, Duane worked for National Defence Head Quarters with Canadian Forces Intelligence Command as a Web Publisher.

Duane loved travelling and spending time with Audrey. He was also a sports enthusiast and was a hockey referee, golfer and dart player but never refused to play in other sports when called upon. He was loved by all who knew him. His sense of humour was fun-loving and playful.

A special thanks to Shelly and Teeny from Ideal Caregivers 4U for the special care you provided.

Friends may visit the family at Beechwood Cemetery on Wednesday, May 4th, from 5-8pm. The funeral will take at Beechwood on Thursday, May 5th at 2pm with burial and reception to follow.

Donations can be made to Canadian Dachshund Rescue Ontario, or charity of your choice would be appreciated.

I met Duane through my husband Dan. Immediately I thought he was an awesome, easy going guy and we became quick friends who shared many life experiences; some good and some bad. He was unquestionably honest, authentic, quick-witted and had the most incredible big heart. I always said to him that he had the best hair and the most contagious laugh. I will miss him.
My dear Duane, you suffer no more.
Audrey , Matthew, Quinn and family, you are in our thoughts and prayers.

It was very shocking news to hear, Duane always had a smile, and very helpful. I remember him trying to help me get a cheap parking spot close to work. RIP my friend, my thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Audrey and family, my sincere condolences to you on Duane's passing. We joined the Public Service at the same time and he sat across from me for almost 9 years. He was a great co-worker who was always smiling, always happy, always laid back and easy to chat with. My thoughts and prayers go out to you.

My sincere condolences Audrey. I will miss his smile, laugh and camaraderie. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. I enjoyed picking up Belgian chocolate for the both of you whilst on my travels and teasing him to try something new! He will be missed.
