Passed away peacefully at home after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife Béatrice Guermonprez, with whom he shared more than 40 wonderful years.

He is also survived by his sisters Debbie (Moshe), Linda (John) and Cathy (Wayne); his sons Don (Marielle), Dave (Diane), Dan and Dennis; grandchildren Amber (Charlie), Dane and Madison (Derek); and great-grandchildren Grace, Levon and Emmett.

A veteran of the RCAF, he flew F-86 Sabres in Europe, was a member of the Golden Centennaires, Canada's centennial air demonstration team, and eventually was Commanding Officer of 413 Search & Rescue Squadron in Summerside, P.E.I.

Robert loved life and enjoyed it fully: skiing, golfing, travelling, socializing with family and friends. He was a real gentleman, a loving husband and father on whom you could always count. He will be missed deeply by all who were lucky enough to know him.

A funeral service will be held on 29 April 2022 at 2 p.m., at the National Military Cemetery, Beechwood Cemetery, in Ottawa. Reception to follow. Vehicles are to assemble at the main reception building between 1:30 and 1:45 p.m.

I got to know Bob when we were all traveling the world together. I feel lucky to have known him and I will always remember him for his smile and good humor. What wonderful memories I have of a real gentleman and friend.

It is with great sadness that I think of the loss of Bob. He was a wonderful friend to my children and myself. He had such Joie de vivre and the most winning smile. His positive outlook on life was infectious. I have wonderful memories of skiing in Europe, then meeting Beatrice in Canada and skiing in Tremblant, and time spent at the summer chalet. Always wonderful food and conversation. Bob certainly touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed.

It was wonderful to spend time with Bob and Beatrice as a couple. They were so happy together and had a wonderful life of family, friends and travel. It was always fun to be with them. I am so sorry for your loss Beatrice and I hope the memories of your 40 years of happiness will help you at this sad time.

My sincere condolences Beatrice and Family.

We have great memories of times spent with Bob & Beatrice in Florida and at Spaads reunions. Will miss a dear friend and fellow squadron mate.
