Surrounded by love at home on August 9, 2020, it is with great sadness that Betty passed away after a six-year battle with lung cancer.  Betty will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband Chuck,  her daughter Helen Davis-Mullin (Jon), son Bill Davis, step-children Cindy Simon, Melissa Simon as well as her grandchildren;  Jamie, Andrew, Nikki, Nathan, Max, Dillon, Will and Chad Simon (pre-deceased).

Also left to mourn are her siblings Bob (Monique), Diane Amo (Gary), Linda Mann, Rick (Johanne), and Cathy O’Reilly (Dave).  She will be terribly missed by many nieces and nephews as well as Chuck’s family in New Brunswick, sisters-in-law Joanne (Reid), Margie, and Patsy along with many other family and close friends.

A special thank you to Dr. Paul Wheatly-Price and Dr. Catherine O’Connor for their care and continued support.  A special thank you goes to Local Health Integration Networks (LHIN) and Carefor for their outstanding compassion over these last few months.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Lung Cancer Canada, Ottawa Charter, would be greatly appreciated.

Due to COVID restrictions, there will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.

Betty is now in Heaven with Mom, Barb and brother-in-law Dick.  She has many other friends and relatives who have been waiting to greet her with open arms Until we meet again, my love

Oh Betty home you loved my Dad and how he treasured you. Soul mates you were. I am so sincerely grateful for all the years you gave us without judgment. How you came to Saint John to see my firstborn Chad. Also how rushed back 2010 and helped me at his funeral. Nana would of loved you and I cant express how loved you are here in NB. Dad was so happy and crazy fun we would hide in the mall. Best times all of us on trips and Dad loved being fun torturing us until we gave in and laughed. Thank you for being so kind and loving us even as teenagers. I never made it easy but after that first year so long ago, you never gave up on me. I loved you for so many things but your patience and love is why we all bonded together and never left me out. My son I know you will find and hug him. Thank you for everything you gave whole heartily to keep us all together. Heaven has another Angel but it hurts being without you. Love Cindy ????

Dear Chuck.......I will always cherish the wonderful memories of the fun times together with you and Betty; whether in blinding snowstorms (after Victor’s restaurant!) or in sunny Florida, moments spend with you both were the best. You were a great team together and it was always easy to see that Betty adored you, and that you adored her. She was so blessed to have you attentively by her side throughout this difficult journey, and I hope that your own happy memories and the photos of a wonderful life together will comfort you in the days to come.

Betty, I will miss your smile, your laughter and the cute way you would chastise Chuck and I when we cheated at board games. :-) You fought the good fight and are an inspiration to us all.....rest in peace, dear Betty.

With love and fond remembrance,

Jack Turpin

Betty, you were like a second mother to me. You and Chuck have always held a very special place in my heart. You are two of my favorite people-I feel blessed to have had you as such an influential person in my life for so many years. There will forever be a void in my heart...I will miss you more than words can say. You were and always will be someone I admire. I’ve always felt so loved by you. You made my world a much happier place! I love you and I’m so grateful to have had you in my life...

Aunt Betty and uncle Chuck. Two of my favourite people in world. Aunt Betty, you were such a wonderful aunt to me. You always cared, showed kindness and were so much fun to be around. Our Christmas’ with you and uncle Chuck will always hold a special place in my heart. I tear up thinking of the non-stop laughter you, mom, dad and uncle Chuck had, and shared with all of us. We had so much fun. I miss you when I see uncle Chuck…he misses you so much. You were so kind to me the year I stayed with you. We talked so much, and shared special memories. I miss you…please give dad a hug. Xo

Dear Chuck and Family,
I've known Betty since Grade 10 at Rideau High School. We were in the same class and shared good times while in the Rideau High Majorettes. Betty and I kept in touch over the years and I know how happy and blessed she was to have you Chuck as her husband. One of the last times I visited with her was when I gifted her with a hand-knitted Prayer Shawl. Her strength and courage was a testament to the love and support received from her family and friends. It's still hard to believe that she is no longer with us, but I know she will remain in my heart forever. My sincere condolences on your loss.

Today finally after years and a pandemic its your day we all get to celebrate your life. Its hard tho as with all the laws we all cant be there. The thing that keeps me feeling close is the burial grounds are just up the Street. I know you hear me and I am beyond grateful for almost 4 decades you gave to the world not just us. You told me few years ago you would find my son Chad and be there as each one of us arrived. How you knew I wanted to ask those questions but felt scared, to this day I am amazed as if you could read my mind. Then told me never think twice to ask or talk to you. Thank you for loving us all. It wasnt easy for you having 2 teenages and then adding 2 more. How brave and full of love and support you always remained. My Dad loved you beyond I thought any man could love. Truly soul mates and how I wish you were here. Sorry for this long letter ? how I love and need you today thank you 2 small words just doesnt seem enough. Love Cindy❤️❤️ not goodbye as I will see you again. ???
