Husband, Father and Pepère
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Robert “Bob” Lamadeleine, on August 14th, 2021, at the Ottawa Montfort Hospital.
Bob was a lifelong resident in Ottawa and an extremely proud Canadian. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a Records Management Manager first with Export Development Canada (EDC) and then with Canada Post. He was also a very active member of ARMA, his professional association. Bob was a gentle, kind, loving and compassionate man. He loved to sing, dance, tell jokes and to cheer for his Ottawa Red Blacks, Senators and Champions.
Bob loved life, his family and his friends and had a wonderful “joie de vivre”. He is survived by his wife Denise (Pelletier), his children Luc (Arlene), Denis (Christine) and Lynne Barrowman (Robert) and his 5 grandchildren, Zoe, Derek, Sophie, Maryse, Robert. He is also survived by his sister, Fran (Bert), his sisters in law, Suzanne McCallister (Jim), Corinne Dove (Hugh), Margaret McLaughlin (Pat), Céline Read (Mike), his brother-in-law Michel Pelletier (Arlene) and many nieces and nephews. Bob will also be greatly missed by his lifelong “amigos” Roger Rose and Ron Clément. He is pre-deceased by his parents, Lionel, and Marguerite (Gagné) and his brother Lionel.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Beechwood National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood Avenue, on Saturday, August 21st at 1pm. Due to current COVID restrictions, a limited number of guests will be able to attend in person and are encouraged to register their attendance at www.beechwoodottawa.ca. You may also register for the Live-streaming of the service if you are unable to attend in person. Masks will be required. A private immediate family reception will take place following the service. Bob’s remains will be laid to rest by the family at a future date.
We wish to extend our deepest thanks to both emergency medical and Montfort Hospital staff. We kindly ask that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Ottawa Heart and Stroke Foundation in his name.

Denise and family, you are in our thoughts and prayers in this difficult time. We feel lucky to have been able to share a big part of our lives with Bob. A cherished friendship that lasted over 40 years. On behalf of Judith and I, we hope Bob will rest in peace and rest assured that he will be remembered by me and the rest of Les Boys. We send our love to you and yours.

Bob became a close family friend 25 years ago when his son, Luc married our daughter Arlene. He often reminded us of how proud he was of this couple as he absolutely beamed with the delight of his heart-felt praise. I smile almost as broadly at the memory of his enthusiasm and the love he proudly wore on his sleeve for his children and grandchildren He will surely be missed.

Dear Denise and family,
I've known Bob for over 40 years, first through EDC as my boss, but it quickly developed into a lasting friendly relationship. Hard not to become friend with such a warm and joyful party guy. He was positive, optimistic and always ready for a song.

Denise and family,
Sorry for your sudden and painful loss. Mon oncle Bob shows up in a lot of my family’s pictures and memories throughout the years - and for good reason. He invested heavily my early life and the lives of many other young people through coaching softball, leading Cubs, etc. Always ready with a smile, laugh, joke, song or an “excuse”, sometimes all the above at the same time! Mostly, I thank him for being a great friend to my dad throughout the many decades. My dad is a better man for having known Bob. Condolences to all you.

My deepest condolences to the Lamadeleine family. He was one of the most kindest souls I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. I will forever remember his songs and joy he lived each day with. Rest in peace.
