Passed away at the Montfort Hospital in Ottawa on Thursday, August 12, 2021; at the age of 57. John leaves behind his daughter, Kristina, his favourite person on this earth; his son-in-law, Liam, whose woodworking he admired more than anything; Yogi Bear, his four-legged grandson, whom he lovingly renamed George, and many caring friends. His teasing, his laughter, and the ferocity in which he loved will be sorely missed. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ottawa Humane Society - as he dearly enjoyed sending funny animal videos to his daughter.

Kristina your father always mentioned how smart and loving you are. Also mentioned that you were his pride and joy. He stated that he would do anything for you. He spoke of your upcoming wedding and was soo proud. Hang in there. Your father would want you to keep your joy. Right now it may seem impossible but I hope you find your joy again as your father would want you to. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts in these hard times. He will be greatly missed.

John is greatly missed in our home where he had been my husband’s online PlayStation friend on a daily basis for many years. They talked about things big and small while navigating their games and there was always a lot of hollering and laughter. We considered him a special friend and send our deepest condolences.
Kristina, so very sorry for your loss. John and I worked together for many years at Metro. He always told me about you and that you were the light of his life. RIP John ❤️
