Passed away quietly in Gatineau, Québec the evening of June 21 at the age of 94. Predeceased by his brothers Charles-Roger, Paul and Pierre. He is survived by his sister Claire, his wife Janet, his two daughters Manon (Mark) and Caroline (Steven). He is also survived by his two granddaughters Kristin and Rachael and many nieces and nephews.
His upbeat nature, smile and encouraging remarks will be greatly missed by family and friends. His love of jazz and sharing of music and art brought joy to many. Always ready to regale us with stories of his long life and varied career. He was a jazz musician playing his tenor sax in speakeasy’s in Montréal before joining the white collar world of a desk job. His career brought him to Ottawa in 1964 where he worked in the Federal Government until his retirement.
A special thanks to the Hull Hospital caregiving staff for the wonderful care given to Jean. Due to COVID restrictions the family will have a private memorial service. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his name to The Red Cross.
