It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Frederick “Fred” Strauss on 25 April 2021. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Sharon. Cherished father to Amanda (Patrick). Loving grandfather to Caralyn and Everly. He is survived by his sisters Kathy Lynch (Jim) and Margaret Humphrey (Jim) and predeceased by his father Ervin and his mother Jean. Fred will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Fred had a distinguished career of 40 years between the Royal Canadian Air Force and the Department of National Defence. He happily made many friends during his long career who will greatly miss him.

An internment at the National Military Cemetery of the Canadian Forces will be held Friday June 4th, 2021 at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.

Due to government-imposed restrictions related to COVID-19, attendance will be restricted to a limited number of individuals, personally invited by the family.

I wish to offer my condolences to Fred's family. We were good neighbours on Glenmanor Drive, many yeas ago.

We are saddened by the loss of our good friend and colleague for many years. We can recall so many great times we have shared with Fred over the years both at work and in leisure. I have fond memories of our golf trip to Myrtle Beach. We will all miss him.

Glad I got to meet cousin Fred as adults a few years ago at Uncle John's funeral. It was as if time hadn't passed. Our families didn't meet often, but when we did we had such fun. I wish we could all be together for you today, but please know that we are all thinking of you and send family love your way.
