Bill took his last flight on Friday evening and it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, son, stepson and friend on Friday, May 21, 2021.

Bill leaves behind his wife Veronika (Roni) (nee Loewe) of 56 years.  Beloved father of the late Bradley (Vina).  Cherished grandfather of Rebecca.  Uncle of Birgit Loewe and her late brother Roland and Birgit’s stepsister Heidrun (Gerhard).

Bill was Born in Manitoba on May 1, 1931 to the late Alfred and late Alice (nee Gibson), also predeceased by his stepmother Emma McKee (nee Bergen).  Brother of the late Joan Lawrence and stepbrother of the late Eleanor Zeman.

Bill loved his flying career in the Royal Canadian Airforce and was retired with distinction after 32 years.  His most memorable time was on Sabre's in Germany followed by T33’s in Ottawa.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services (280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa). Due to the COVID 19 restrictions, a Private Family Service will be held with an internment with Military Honours in the National Military Cemetery located at Beechwood Cemetery.

For those who wish to make a donation in memory, you may do so towards the Ottawa Heart Institute.

Although, I never met Bill, he was my first cousin. I wish I could have met him. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Roni;
I was so sorry to hear of Bopper's passing. He was a great friend and squadron mate when we all were in Zweibruecken.

My condolences, Roni; although we seldom met after Germany, both you and Bill were but a flash away in my memory. I am saddened by his loss.
