Peacefully, and with her devoted husband by her side, Karen passed away after a lengthy battle with Cancer. She lived the last of her days as she had lived the rest of her life, with grace, humour and most of all with kindness. She is survived by her loving husband Robert, Stepchildren Katie and Jeff, Grandchildren Macy, Russell, Eva and Gregory. Cherished sisters Sandra (Wayne), Cheryl (Bruce), Ida (the late Robert) and Debra. Loving aunt to William, Marta, Craig, Kayleigh, Jason, Dara and Stephanie. Predeceased by her parents William Pollex and Ida (Ruch) and cherished sister Wendy.
A special thank you to the doctors, nurses and all the other front line medical staff who treated Karen with all the care and respect that she deserved. To all the friends and family that reached out and helped Karen in this difficult time, your words and efforts were greatly appreciated and will not be forgotten.
Following a small private ceremony, Karen will be laid to rest on a family plot at Beechwood Cemetery, a larger celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
Karen's passing has left a large hole in our lives that cannot be filled but we can honour her memory by treating each other as she treated us, with love and compassion. We will miss you forever Karen and we are sure that your Angel wings look beautiful on you.

I was sorry to hear this news. Bob talked about Karen often during our weekly Sunday brunches at the old McLeod St Stoneface at it was clear how much she meant to him. His advice on life, love and relationships are still with me today. Condolences to Bob, Jeff and the family.

I am so thankful that Karen and I talked on the phone over the last several weeks. We had a great time talking about our teenage years at school and our young adult memories of our first apartment together, working at the Bank of Canada etc. We did get into mischief growing up ask any of her sisters. Our later years when I moved to Calgary we kept in touch. I received a birthday card from Karen each year. She never forgot. I would then call her and we would catch up. I will never forget her.
My condolences to Bob and family.
