It is with great sadness that the family of Janina (Kosko) Wylupski announces her passing on Saturday, January 9, 2021, at the Glebe Long-Term Care Centre at the age of 95.

Loving Mother to Helen (Halina) Serrurier, Richard, and Henry. Loving Grandmother to Marc, Dawn, and Jason Serrurier, Joanna and Christopher Wylupski, Christine and Tracy Wylupski.

Loving Great Grandmother to Joshua and Tori. Austin, Noah,and Jordon. Bailey, Bradley, and Lily. Peyton, and Devan. Loving Great-Great-Grandmother to Elliott.

Janina was predeceased by her husband, Paul, her parents, Matthew and Halina, and siblings Anna and Maria who lived in Eastern Europe.

Janina loved her family near and far. She loved her home and her spiritual community within St. Hyacinth Church. She loved gardening, feeding stray animals and was always there to help others in need. She had a heart of gold and her generosity towards others never went unnoticed.

She enjoyed the simple things in life and had a wonderful sense of humour. She loved music, particularly Tom Jones. She loved to dance and enjoy all the good things our world has to offer. Janina will be remembered by the members of Saint Hyacinth Roman Catholic Church especially the Rosary Club, which she was a faithful member for many years. She was a person of strong faith, a virtuous individual who personified empathy, compassion, honesty, courage, and trust. She was loved and respected by all who knew her.

Janina (Jenny) retired in 1990 after working at the Ottawa Civic Hospital for 35 years. She was awarded a safety award by the Hospital for never having had an accident in all of her years of service. After retirement, Janina traveled back to Belarus {Pinsk}
to reunite with her family members.

The family extends their gratitude to all the staff at the Glebe Centre, particularly, Karen, Danika, Jennifer, Maggie, Annelise, and Jim for the support and kindness they showed to Janina while in their care. She will be missed by all those whose lives she touched throughout her long and memorable life.

A church service and celebration of Janina’s life will be organized at a later date. Instead of flowers, any goodwill donation like the Foodbank, or the Glebe Centre, or your charity of choice, would be greatly appreciated.

It's a very pity to know about grandmother Janina's passing. She had 7 sisters and brothers, one of which was my grandmother Anna.

We are thankful for all the best that grandmother Janina has done to our big family in Belarus. And we warmly recall Janina's visit (with Helen, Richard and Dianne) to our country. Lot's of great memories together.

Rest in peace.
Love from the big family in Belarus (towns: Minsk, Pinsk, Stavok, Baranovichi and others).
