Passed suddenly on October 24, 2020 at Gatineau Hospital at 61 years of age. Beloved husband of Michele Daigneault. Loving father of Pascal and Amélie. Alain’s brothers Benoit (Kathleen) and Denis survive him. He had a special bond with cousin Bri Brunelle. He is predeceased by his father Guy and mother Leona.
Alain joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1977 and retired in 2018. Proud member of the 22 Regiment and Dental Corp. He proudly served in Afghanistan. In 2018, Alain joined Canada Corrections Department of Health. Alain served as a Trainer for the 2820 Chutes Chaudière; he was a Master Instructor for St. John’s Ambulance.
Due to government-imposed restrictions related to COVID-19, attendance at the visitation, funeral service and interment in the National Military Cemetery will be restricted to a limited number of individuals, personally invited by the family.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society of Canada.

J’ai servi avec Alain en Allemagne et aussi avec le corps dentaire durant une bonne partie de ma carrière. Tu est partie trop vite mon frère. Tu avait comme moi un passer de r22r mais toi il était tatoué sous ton béret. Repose en paix et on va sûrement se voir un jour dans l’au-delà. S’insère condoléance à toute la famille. I've known Alain pretty much all my entire military career. When I was just a young private, in 1991, Alain took me under his wing to show me the ropes (at least that's what he said ...) Over the years, our career always crossed path, I was there for him in times of need and he was there for me. Alain was an amazing instructor and was always so passionate to teach and transfer his knowledge. Throughout the years I earned the title of one of his P'tit soeur (little sister), I understood that for Alain this is how he demonstrated his affection. If you were one of his p’tit soeur, he would protect you and had a special place in his heart for you.
I will forever have fond memories of him and will miss him dearly. RIP mon p'tit Vison xx
