Marianne Louise Cooper Rayburn (nee Cook), passed away peacefully at the age of 78, on Saturday, June 20, 2020. Marianne will be greatly missed by her husband of 38 years, Ian Rayburn, and her daughters Elizabeth (Dan), Paula and Krista.
Marianne is survived by her brother David, and sisters Diane (Jim), and Laraine (Jean Claude). She will also be dearly missed by her brother-in-law Andy (Karen), and sister-in-law Ginny (the late Bob Miller).
Marianne will be forever remembered by her grandchildren, Morgan (Johnny), Victoria, Emma (Henrique) and Sasha, as well as her nieces and nephews, Marc, Jennifer and her children, Madison and Makenzie, Gilles (Jacqueline) and their children Amelia and Owen, Peter, Lisa and her children Andrew and Elizabeth. She also leaves behind many cherished friends.
Marianne was born in Vancouver, the eldest of four siblings. Growing up, she lived in several cities before settling in Ottawa where she attended Rideau High School. Following her graduation, she entered nursing school at the Ottawa Civic Hospital. A few years following, she met Ian, and together their joy for adventure and travel was heightened; which led to their many adventures throughout: the United States, Mexico, England (where they lived for a year), Europe, and Portugal – which they frequented for many years, and had fond memories.
Marianne had many hobbies, which included her love for reading, gardening and family. Her zest for life, story-telling, sense of humour and delicious cooking will live on forever.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
