Dr. Michael David Rannie

After a valiant battle against ALS, peacefully at home, nested in the arms of his loving wife Maria Grace Gonzales, on Monday January 27, 2020 at the age of 56.  Cherished son of Estelle (née Martineau) and David Rannie. Loving father to Sean and Christine Rannie and stepfather to Gabriel and Brigitte Berry.

Dear brother to Paul (Kathryn) and Anne-Marie (John Wallace) and dear uncle to Sarah, Claire, Julia, Sarah, and Cory. Will be dearly missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and fondly remembered by many friends, co-workers and colleagues.

Mike's many accomplishments included a PhD in Psychometrics from Western University, Recipient of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal, and an Advocate for ALS research. Mike loved/enjoyed the piano, music, games, movies, cooking, travel, and political discussion.

My sincere condolences to Mike's family and friends. Our interactions were brief, and late, but meaningful to me. RIP.

My deepest sympathies to the family. I met Mike many years ago at the RCMP and worked for him for the last few years. He was a very kind and gentle man.

Mike was such a nice, nice man who was so intelligent, inquisitive and was always happy, positive and smiling. He will be sorrowfully missed. May he rest in peace.

Was a soft, kind thoughtful person. Did not know him well but every time we met it was with some one I knew was a good man that you could trust and enjoy talking to.
