Stephen William Raymond passed peacefully at the Ottawa Civic Hospital on the morning of January 26th, 2020 at age 77.  He is sadly missed by his loving wife of 47 years, Bonnie and two sons, Joseph & Christopher.  Born February 18, 1942, son of Kenneth and Margaret Raymond (predeceased), brother to Deborah, James, George (predeceased) and Charles (predeceased).  Steve was dearly beloved by in-laws Beverlae & Doug Buckland, John & Catherine Brady, Joseph & Conni Brady, Elizabeth Brady, Brenda-Helen Giroux, Barbara & Greg Drury, Frances (deceased) & Reginald Lofthouse and very fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews and friends.  A proud graduate of EOIT College, he will be sorely missed by his college buddies around the table on their Colonnade pizza nights.  Steve’s love of chemistry and computer science employed him at the National Research Council, the NRC Wind Tunnel and Environment Canada in Ottawa, ON, in addition to post-retirement projects such as Raymotech Systems Consulting.  For many years Steve was a pillar of the Hunt Club Community involved in activities for both youth and adults including Beavers and Boy Scouts’ leader, neighbourhood baseball leagues and first-hand involvement in local issues.  Steve’s family would like to thank the medical staff at the Ottawa Civic Vascular Unit and Heart Institute for their efforts and care.  A Celebration of Life will be scheduled in the Spring for family and friends.

We will never forget you, Steve, and your love of Bev's fudge, Italian meals at Cafe Trattoria and family carolling at Christmas. You will be forever our "Little Drummer Boy."

We miss you Dad. I would personally like to thank everyone who visited and cared for Dad in the hospital and out, family and friends. It was a long painful illness but we can take some comfort that he is at rest and free. I wish we had more time but I am grateful for the times we had.

Hey Steve! We will always treasure the memories of so many fun times together - typically over Italian food and wine - and our great debates over technology, politics and football! Fortunately, we solved most of the world's problems before you had to go. Your last year has been so difficult and we are glad you are finally at peace. We will always remember you with your special little 'smirk', as if you had a secret to tell!

Steve, we will miss you. Fond memories of many fun Christmas caroling gatherings by the fireplace - fortified by Bon's scrumptious meatballs! Rest in peace, Steve.

Steve, I will always have those memories of the good times we shared at E.O.I.T. class of Chem. 66. You will be missed at our irregular meetings of "The Boys" at the
Colonnade restaurant but rest assured that "The Boys" will raise a glass or two in your memory. You were a great friend and classmate. I still think of you often.
